I love when I click on a book post and I haven’t read any of the novels, it opens up a whole new world of writing!! I’ve only read one book by Ali Smith which was The Accidental and admittedly it wasn’t my favourite, but I’ve heard wonderful things about her seasonal novels! I’ve never been to a literary festival before but I’d love to go to one this year, hearing authors talk is one of the most fascinating things to me. Loved reading this, and thanks so much for mentioning my post! I so appreciate you reading 🤍 so happy I found your substack!

Yes to this (not seeing the same novels recommended)! I feel like Substack has allowed me to explore literature more because there's a type of trust that comes with a written article and a lot more variety. I felt the same when I saw your TBR list, and jotted a few down to add to my list!

I feel there's a lot of ambivalence towards the seasonal quartet, I've heard some found some of them a bit slow. But, I'm a big fan of seasonal descriptive writing, and can kind of forgo a plot for that ☺️

So excited for the literary festival, I'm going to keep my eye out for more happenings. I'm lucky to have some really good independent bookshops near me, so there's always a good talk or two going on!

Also, the feeling is very mutual, excited to see more of your writing! ♥️
